Heart Healthy AZ is a family based program whose mission is to empower our youth and families to provide basic life saving and first aid skills.
Founded in 2008, this program is devoted to preparing individuals to be safe in unsupervised settings, whether babysitting, sibling sitting or home alone.
The Heart Healthy AZ Babysitter CPR curriculum is designed exclusively for youth ages 10-17 and covers the following areas: safety skills, child care skills, first aid & rescue skills, and life & business skills. Heart Healthy AZ courses are instructor-led and interactive, with hands-on demonstrations and skills practice using soft-bodied dolls and medical manikins.
Babysitter & Childcare Safety Training
Students will be equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence to care for infants and school age children. Students will learn problem solving for common babysitting issues, the business of babysitting, safety on the job, safe play, feeding & diapering, basic first aid and conscious choking skills. Students will earn a Babysitting certification card upon successful completion of the course. Students should bring a non-perishable lunch to training or snacks. Ages 10-17. Babysitter & Childcare Safety Training Plus CPR/AED & FA
This class equips students with the knowledge, skills and confidence to care for infant and school age children. The comprehensive class will teach students how to respond to emergencies and illness with first aid skills, rescue breathing and other appropriate care. Students will earn 2 certifications; certified Babysitter and CPR/AED child and infant. Students should bring a non-perishable lunch to training. Ages 11-17 Instructor Fee: 45.00 Supply Fee: 45.00
This course incorporates the latest science and teaches students how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies. Successful students will receive a certificate for Adult/Child/Infant CPR/AED valid for two years. $15.00 supply fee $15.00 Instructor Fee. Students should bring a non-perishable lunch or snacks.
Adult CPR/AED with Basic First Aid
Basic First AID with CPR/AED combo class. Training meets OSHA Guidelines for First Aid Programs and combines lecture, interactive video demonstrations featuring emergency scenarios that are likely to occur in a variety of environments and hands-on training to teach participants lifesaving skills. . Discern between Heart Attack and Cardiac Arrest, signs and symptoms of Stroke and Foreign body airway obstruction. First Aid: Participants learn to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies, such as burns, cuts and scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck and back injuries, and heat and cold emergencies. Students will earn a combo certificate for CPR/AED and Basic FA. Instructor Fee: 30.00 Supply Fee: 30.00
Pet First Aid
Dogs are more than pets, they are family. Just like any other member of the family, dogs deserve to be cared for and protected. This course will teach you how to respond to health emergencies and provide basic first aid for the four-legged members of your family. Practice and preparation will help you to remain calm and effective in an emergency, protecting you and your pet from further injury or suffering. Instructor fee of $8 and supply fee $10
